Ann + Marty’s VanDusen wedding

On this cold January Monday morning I wanted to share with you some images from one of my favorite weddings last year.  This wedding makes me happy every time I think about it.  I hardly slept the night before the wedding as the forecast was calling for rain and I knew how much Ann wanted the ceremony outside in the VanDusen Gardens. The morning of the wedding I was armed with 60 umbrellas and ready for anything, but luck was on our side and the sun came out in the afternoon just an hour before the ceremony.

Ann and Marty’s wish came true; we had an intimate garden wedding ceremony with music by Musical Occasions on the Great Lawn followed by a beautiful dinner reception at Shaughnessy Restaurant. The wedding was complete with a butter cream cake by Sweet Thea and stunning flowers by Sacha at Flower Box- aren’t they beautiful?! I think the main reason this wedding makes me so happy was witnessing how much love was surrounding Ann and Marty on their wedding day. I loved how intimate, understated and personal their celebration was. Enjoy the photos and I hope they brighten your Monday

AisleWalk Launch Party

In December we had the honor of attending the launch party for the 2012 edition of AisleWalk Magazine. The uber talented Erin Gilmore always throws a fabulous party to celebrate the magazine and this year was no different. Held at the stunning Shangri La Hotel in downtown Vancouver, we were treated to delectable canapés and one of a kind cocktails.  Photobooth Vancouver was on hand ensuring we had priceless mementoes and Side One (if you haven’t heard them yet-check them out; they are amazing!) played one hit after another ensuring the dance floor was packed.

We were especially excited for the party to see our article (“Planning Pitfalls”) in print. Erin and her team did another outstanding job on this edition of Aisle Walk. If you want to pick up a copy, you can find it at most bridal boutiques, wedding shows and online in it’s entirety here.

Lastly, we want to thank Erin and her team for honoring us with her “Taking the Industry by Storm” award. We are incredibly humbled and want to say congratulations to all of the wedding pros who came out to celebrate that night. We can’t wait to see what Erin has in store for AisleWalk next year!
