Patty and Will could often be found on Granville Island with their beautiful daughter Emma so naturally that is where they envisioned getting married last summer.
After eight months of anticipation, Patty arrived at the Granville Island Hotel with her bridesmaids to get ready for her wedding day. Emily Cheng Makeup and Hair beautified the ladies in the penthouse suite of the hotel. Once Patty was ready, she put on her stunning jeweled gown, which she bought on a trip to New York, and paired it with her dove grey Manolo Blahnik’s and she was ready for her wedding day.
The intimate ceremony was held in Ron Basford Park followed by a classically styled dinner reception at Bridges Restaurant. Garden Party created soft romantic florals using whites and creams, which complimented the display of candles glowing on the guest table. Bridges created a delicious meal and speeches were entertaining and chocked full of genuine love and tears. Patty loves desserts, she is an amazing baker so of course the dessert table needed to fantastic! All sweet cravings were catered to: chocolate covered strawberries, cupcakes, double stuffed chocolate covered Oreos, hard candies, meringue cookies, mini cakes, cheesecake, Candy Apples, M & M’s and fortune cookies covered in coconut shavings to name a few! Amy of Garden Party Flowers made a floral wedding cake as the centerpiece of the dessert table.
As the party began to really get under way, the setting sun cast a warm glow on all the tables and the dancing began.

Earlier this year, it was my pleasure to work with Amanda + Brian. They celebrated their marriage at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in downtown Vancouver. Their wedding needed to be filled with Jewish traditions, it had to be fun, have amazing food and there needed to be dancing! Lots of dancing! I am thrilled to say we succeeded on all parts. If you missed my earlier post about Vincent + Theo’s highlights of the wedding you can see it here. I think Wade did an outstanding job of capturing the dancing and atmosphere, you can tell it was a party! It is worth noting that the party didn’t stop when the band was done, the party continued into the wee hours of the morning with a killer after party complete with a nacho station.
The day was a whirl wind of excitement and celebration; I was honored to be a part of it. I was lucky to work beside Flower Factory, Upright Decor, Ariana Q, Famous Players Band and many more talented people, including the spectacular Jonetsu who took all these beautiful images below.
If you would like to see more from this wedding it is featured on the Real Weddings Magazine blog.

It is hard to believe that one year ago, almost to the day, Sonia + Adam were getting married. It was such a honour to be a part of their special wedding day. There are few people as sweet, genuine, kind and warm hearted at Sonia and I think that Camille and Chadwick’s beautiful photos capture her loveliness perfectly.
Sonia and Adam were married in a Catholic ceremony at St Francis de Sales Parish in Burnaby. A beautiful reception followed, designed by Art of the Party, at the Westin Bayshore. Some of my favorite details included the flowers because they were designed and made by Adam’s mother, the circular bar in the cocktail reception which had a 18 foot cheery tree in the middle of it, the lounge which was hidden behind a garden wall until the dance floor was revealed later in the evening (and included cotton candy, a dessert table to die for) and of course the delicious Italian feast! Sonia took great care to ensure her wedding was a memorable experience for her guests. She included an Elvis impersonator, a photo booth, an espresso station, glow rings for all of the guests during the dance party, and the best late night food any tipsy guest could wish for.
Happy Anniversary Sonia + Adam, I wish you so much happiness and love for all of your future anniversaries to come.
With love, Alicia

We are looking forward to Patty + William’s wedding this weekend! I have loved working with them for the past eight months, putting together plans for their outdoor wedding ceremony on Granville Island, followed by an intimate dinner reception at Bridge’s restaurant. Stay tuned for photos of Patty’s dessert table, which we have worked tirelessly on to ensure detailed perfection.
Thank you to Denise Lin for the beautiful engagement photos!

Sarah and Geoff were married on a sunny day December 2012 just before New Years. The wedding design was inspired by the elegance of the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Sarah and Geoff would stay at the hotel whenever they were visiting Vancouver and after their first visit they knew instantly that they would one day be married there.
The morning began with Jayna Marie getting all of the bridesmaids and the bride glammed up. Sarah wore a stunning Vera Wang gown that was covered in tiny floral detailing-it was truly a work of art. Sarah’s custom Elsa Coris jewels reflected the elegance of the occasion. Knowing a head of time that we would be losing the sunlight quickly, we planned for Sarah and Geoff to have an intimate first look together at the hotel and then they hopped into Jim’s Bentley for photos in Stanley Park.
The candle lit ceremony was held in the Rosewood Hotel Georgia Ballroom. Sarah and Geoff worked with Celebrant Michele Davidson to create a personal, intimate and memorable wedding ceremony, which included a directional blessing by a Salish elder. Following the ceremony the guests enjoyed live jazz by Musical Occasions and the Photobooth from Vancouver Photobooth while drinking martinis and sampling delectable canapés. It was important to Sarah and Geoff to be able to visit with their guests during cocktail hour,as most of them had traveled to Vancouver for the wedding celebration.
Following cocktail hour, the guests were invited back into the ballroom which had magically been transformed with flower laden tables for dinner. Stephanie at Balconi created stunning arrangements filled with white peonies. The evening continued with great food, many glasses of wine, cake by Sweet Thea and of course dancing by DJ Lance.
It was an honour for me to be a part of Sarah and Geoff’s wedding and we have both said what a special bond we made during the planning process. I have to say when it was all said and done, my favorite moment of working with them happened the night before the wedding. I dropped off Sarah’s dress to her room at the hotel and Geoff said excitedly, want to hear the song I have decided to walk down the aisle too? We sat together the three of us, listening to music (I may have cried, surprised?), chatting about what the next day would hold and sharing personal stories. It makes me still makes me teary to write this, knowing that the wedding plans are done, but I am happy with knowing that I have two kind friends in Alberta ready to eat good food anytime I visit.
Much love to you both.

My beloved Mandy and Karl are getting married this month. I have avoided writing this post because, selfishly, I am in denial that our planning journey is nearly done and I am trying to postpone having to say good-bye.
It’s hard to believe that their wedding is just around the corner. Mandy, Karl and I started planning their June 2012 wedding in the summer of 2010, so that they could take their time, enjoy the planning of the wedding and because we knew we would have to work around Karl’s hectic hockey schedule. At times, we have been impatient waiting for the date to arrive, but I think it is going to be worth it. By their wedding day, we will have worked together for over two years and it’s going to be a pretty emotional day all around. Hilary Miles can attest to how invested I am in giving them their dream wedding; I was in her store last week looking at the final mock up of their wedding flowers and I burst into tears of happiness. I want this day to be perfect for them, to truly reflect their personalities and to honor the love they have for each other.
I think the world of these two, as they know. It has been a honor and a joy to get to know them and watch how loving, kind and supportive they are of each other. I even started to pay attention to hockey (talk about stressful!) so I could cheer them both on during the Stanley Cup playoffs and that’s saying a lot.
Mandy + Karl, I wish you a life time of happiness, you deserve nothing less.
Now it’s time to celebrate!
Their love was beautifully captured by Sweet Pea photographer, Lori Miles-thank you for letting us share.
We had the privilege of being a part of Shannon + Matt’s intimate wedding at Hawksworth at the end of March. Jeff Ow, their photographer extraordinaire, gave us a few teasers from their wedding and we wanted to share them with you right away! Full post to follow-just wait until you see her gorgeous cocktail length wedding dress.
We can’t be more happy for you, Shannon + Matt, we wish you a life time of happiness together.
