I want to start by saying how much I loved planning Jen and Martin’s wedding – they had the best sense of humour! We made jokes all the time throughout the planning process, and they laughed at all my jokes (hopefully they weren’t laughing at me!), it was so much fun to work with them.
We spent a lot of time looking for the perfect venue for Jen and Martin – we searched high and low throughout Vancouver and the Sea to Sky corridor. They wanted to create an intimate, memorable experience for their guests, with a great dinner party atmosphere. The Vancouver Club ended up being the perfect location for them and it looked stunning with the addition of beautiful flowers by Celsia Florist and decor by Koncept Event Design.
The morning of the wedding, the wedding party came together for a yoga session before they started their wedding preparations. Denise Elliott did a wonderful job with make-up as always, and I loved Jen’s hair by Haley Glenn at The Parlour in Gastown. The couple’s first look took place in the Bar & Grill at the Vancouver Club, where they had two Negroni cocktails ready to go! :)
The couple really wanted to create an intimate “dinner-party” feel at their wedding. For dessert they offered Black Forest mille feuille, and I loved the extra touch of having sparklers for three of their wedding guests who had birthdays that weekend.
The very talented bride also made the wedding cake, and the delicious chocolate truffle favors! The couple also had personalized cards on each table with a photo of themselves making silly faces – which was so fitting for them – and they personal notes on the other side of the card.
After a beautiful ceremony and delicious meal, guests were entertained late into the night with a photobooth from Adam & Kev, late night grilled cheese served by the Vancouver Club, and music from DJ Matty C.
I loved planning Jen and Martin’s wedding with them, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness in their married life together!
